The Fifth LGBT seminar at the IRE is taking place from July 26 to July 29. These seminars are gatherings of activists in LGBT movements from around the world who are committed to radical anti-capitalist politics. The aim of the LGBT Seminar is to share and develop ideas on the most pressing topics concerning the struggle for human rights in the LGBT community, debate about strategies for LGBT liberation , and discuss how to participate in LGBT struggles on the basis of an anti-capitalist political project.
Tussen 14 en 16 february vindt het derde IIRE economie seminar plaats. De eerdere seminars vonden plaats in 2009 en 2011. Dit jaar zal er gekeken worden naar veranderingen in de economie wereldwijd, met een focus op de wisselwerking tussen de ecologische en economische crises en discussies over een links antwoord op de crisis. Deelnemers zijn onder meer bekende economen alsMichael Roberts, François Chesnais, Eric Toussaint, Ozlem Onaram, Claudio Katz, Cedric Durand, Michel Husson en milieuactivist Daniel Tanuro.

De tweede 'ecosocialist school' was een succes en had een echt internationaal karakter. Deze cursus was de laatste grote activiteit van het IIRE in 2013. Elk jaar organiseren we verschillende scholingsbijeenkomsten. De grootste hiervan is een drie weken durende bijeenkomst voor politieke activisten. Enkele jaren geleden besloten we het programma van deze cursus geheel te vernieuwen en deze te herdopen tot 'ecosocialist school' om het groeiende belang van de ecologische kwestie aan te merken.

For the second year, the IIRE will be hosting the Summer School on Black Europe (24th June-5th July), which reaches now it’s sixth edition. We publish an interview we had with Professor Kwame Nimako, the main organiser, at the end of last year’s session.
Now that the Seminar is approaching its end, we would like you to tell us something about this seminar and what have you been discussing these last two weeks.
The organisation of an International Women’s Seminar was decided in February 2012 by the leadership of the International.
The response was very important. About 30 women will be attending the seminar, coming from Belgium, Brazil, Britain, Denmark, Ecuador, France, Germany, Indonesia, Italy, Mexico, Philippines, Spain, Sri Lanka and Switzerland.
We received donations for helping with the travel costs of the participants from the Third World to an amount of more than 2000 €. The International paid also part of the travel costs.
